In the 13th century, a young Russian prince rose to legendary status — not just as a warrior, but as a saint and spiritual protector of his people. In 1240, he defeated the Swedish invaders at the Neva River, earning the name “Nevsky.”

In 1242, he shattered the German crusaders at the frozen Lake Peipus in the famous Battle on the Ice, halting Catholic expansion and preserving Eastern Orthodox faith across Rus. Canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church, Alexander Nevsky became the symbol of resistance against Western domination spiritually and militarily. Without Nevsky, there would be no Orthodox Russia.

His bloodline and legacy forged the soul of an empire.
